What are Green Lentils?
Green Lentils are the best lentils on offer. They were originally grown in an area of France called Puy (which explains the name). They are now grown in other continents too. Green Lentils have a rich taste and hold together very well during cooking, so they are often used in salads and stews.
Green Lentils are easy to cook and preparation guidelines are normally included in the packaging. Depending on whether you soak the lentils they cook in around 3-35 minutes.
Green Lentils contain more fibre than red lentils (31% as oposed to 11%).
